Zooming Range Using Bing Map AJAX Control RRS feed

  • Question

  • The furthest zoom level of Bing Map Ajax control is 25' = 10m. How can I zoom deeper? I have my own tiles that are appropriate for viewing beyond the 10m level.

  • There is no supported/documented way to do this. However there is an undocumented way to do this. Add the following line of code before loading the map:

    Microsoft.Maps.Globals.maxMercatorZoom = 22;

    Do not set the max zoom level any higher than 22. The math for the map starts running into floating point errors if you do and it freezes up. Note that doing this may result in unexpected errors as it hasn't been tested and isn't technically supported.
