Creating a list from a content type - not all content types listed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to create a custom list using a content type.
I turned on the content types for this list and can now select them, but the list does not contain all content types (which I can see in site content type gallery) - why is that?

  • Different types of lists will only support certain content types.

For example, with a document library, you will only be able to add a content type that inherits from either Document (or Folder) content types.
