C++/CLI performance issue in VS2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have a legacy dll(native c++) which used to interact with a .NET dll through a COM wrapper, we finally decided to move from native C++ dll to a C++/CLI dll so that we can get rid of the COM wrapper used in the communication.

Functionality wise I have no issues in changing it from C++ to C++/CLI, but I have a great performance slowdown.

For eg: to execute a particular operation in native C++ which interacts with the .NET dll it took 15ms, but now in C++/CLI it takes ~100ms to perform the same task.

before this activity we also developed a prototype with C#.NET to use the .NET interface of the dll directly and we didnt observe any performance slowdown with the approach.

Is there any project setings(visual studio 2010) that need to be set properly for optimisation or thread attibue?

    Thanks in advance.
