No indication of what unit of measurment is represented RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the Azure map spatial services in PostBuffer the response from the service contains a distances collection(see image) as can be seen in the example from the documents example area . There is no indication at what size of unit is used in the response for example does the number represent metres, miles, yards etc.

Similar in the GetBuffer area of the doc there is no indication of what the 'distances' represents in the get request-
    GET https://atlas.microsoft.com/spatial/buffer/json?subscription-key=[subscription-key]&api-version=1.0&udid=[udid]&distances=176.3

  • The team has confirmed the units are meters. They will update the documentation to include this information. Thank you for reporting this.

  • I'll double check, but I believe all units, unless indicated otherwise, are in meters. Checking a bunch of the other services, they only return meters. I'll have the dev team improve the docs.
