How to specify execution folder RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have developed a windows application.

The project includes a template excel sheet which the application compares on user input

I have published(simple publish, no installation wizard configured) the project along with the excel sheet in a folder in desktop.

Now when i click the setup, the application gets installed in

    C:\Users\<uSerName>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0\DNKE4556.698\04KXQGY6.KZJ\solu..tion_4c66154175659295_0001.0000_f7dc893892b581f6

    and always runs from here.

This cannot be when i distribute my application.

How can i specify my published package to install in the same folder.

    hoping i'm clear. Thanks.

  • Hi Loveson,

Thanks for posting in the MSDN Forum.

As far as I know, the way you used to distribute your project is Click Once. And we’re not able to customize the target folder in the Click Once application.

If you want to set default target folder for the project in your distribute dome, I would recommend you do it via Window Installer.

    Have a good day,

    Tom
