why do my references have a red marker on them?

I downloaded the game sample, and it doesn't compile.

Could you tell us which sample and what errors you get?

Are you running on the Windows Developer Preview with developers tools or are you adding Visual Studio to a preview image without tools?  The former is required to build and run Metro style apps (see http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/toolsforwinapps/thread/12057f17-2f6c-422e-836e-47bcb1656a5d )/

Sorry for the late response. I re-installed it all and it works great.

No red stuff.

 

It was a bad install.
