Report Viewer, TextBox and more than 1 DataSet RRS feed

  • Question

  • I create the DataSets, then in the reportviewer I set the datasources, then I drag from toolbox a table, then I set the "DataSet Name" property of table, and finally I drag a field from DataSources into a table's cell. This is how I do, and it works perfectly. However, now I need to put the each field in a specific position, but I can't do such thing using table, cuz it does not work!

So, I tried to drag a field from DataSources into a TextBox, but the compiler says:
"The Value expression for the textbox ‘textbox30’ uses an aggregate expression without a scope.  A scope is required for all aggregates used outside of a data region unless the report contains exactly one data set."
How can I set the scope of this TextBox, regarding I'm using more than one DataSet on report?
    Get a life. Go party!

  • Hi Joba,

You can add scope to the text box by referencing the dataset along with the field expression.

    =Sum(Fields!Field1.Value,"DataSet1")
