Bing map shows incorrect labeling in a certain area of Australia RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are getting an issue where labeling in a certain area of the Bing Base map appears to be incorrect. If you take a look at the two screenshots further below, the labels ‘Cootharaba’ appear to be in the wrong location, as ‘Cootharaba’ is the name of a region much further away in the North West.

If we hit the following URL then it gives us.

    https://ecn.t3.tiles.virtualearth.net/tiles/r3112112213232111.jpeg?g=4872&mkt=en-US&shading=hill

Please see the image on browser for this and below URL as I am not allowed to add images.

Whereas on the Bing.com/maps we get following URL for the same tile -

    http://ak.dynamic.t1.tiles.virtualearth.net/comp/ch/3112112213232111?mkt=en-AU&ur=in&it=G,BX,RL&shading=hill&n=z&og=112&c4w=1

Can you please help us in getting the correct tile with the first URL?

    Regards,
    Vishwas

  • Are you using one of the older Bing Maps controls; V6.3 AJAX or the Silverlight control? Other than these two map controls which are near their end of life (November of this year), all Bing Maps controls use the dynamic tile URL and not the first tile URL you pointed to.
