Adding GDI Hardware Acceleration to WDDM 1.1 Driver RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi-

We are trying to write our first WDDM1.1 driver and have it loading and staying enabled in Windows 7.. I've followed the MSDN documentation for implementing this. I've set DXGKDDI_INTERFACE_VERSION to DXGKDDI_INTERFACE_VERSION_WIN7,  set DXGK_DRIVERCAPS ->DXGK_PRESENTATIONCAPS->SupportKernelModeCommandBuffer to TRUE and implemented DxgkDdiRenderKm.

Like most every one else, we  see  OS call DxgkDdiGetStandardAllocationDriverData with D3DKMDT_STANDARDALLOCATION_GDISURFACE to prepare GDI Surface. Then, the DxgkDdiCreateAllocation and DxgkDdiOpenAllocation called. But,after this, the DxgkDdiCloseAllocation and DxgkDdiDestroyAllocation are also called.I don"t know what makes this happened when OS process GDI Surface.

The biggest problem we have right now is that our DxgkDdiRenderKm function is never called so we can"t even use the GDI Hardware Acceleration

Who knows what we are doing wrong or have any suggestions?
