What configuration changes should be made to work with InfoPath 2010 in Claims authenticaton mode in SharePoint 2010? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

My SharePoint 2010 test environment is a farm environment with 3 WFE servers, one App server and one Database server.

It conists of 3 web applications created with Classic mode authentication and using many service applications.

And the Stage & Prod environments are also similar to Test env.

We have lot of InfoPath forms on current PROD and using user profile service web service in many of those forms for getting current logged in user.

We are planning to migrate to Claims authentication in near future, I want to experiment how it works in Claims authentications.

For that I am doing experiment on my test environment by creating one new web application with Claims authentication mode. But failed with a message showing

An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service.

An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

                       Log ID:5566

I have a UDCX file pointing to UserProfileService.asmx of newly created web application (claims authentication) and <udc:authentication> entry consists of Secure Store Service entry.

    My question are below:

    1. Can I have web applications with Classis and Claims authentication mode in one FARM?

    2. If the above is Yes, Do I need to perform any other additional configuration changes to make work the web application created with the Claims authentication to use the existing service applications? (Like Secure Store Service?)

    3. What confiugration settings required in InfoPath Form services section of CA?

    Note:

    1. I configured Secure Store Service with a service account and refering the same account in my UDCX file.

    2. using https

    Findings:

    1. when browsing https://webappname/_layouts/_vti_bin/userprofileservice.asmx?WSDL directly in browser, got 404 error (the web page cannot displayed)

    2. When creating a new infopath form, warning message shown during page load, the ULS log entry shows:
Data adapter failed during OnLoad: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

    - The following query failed: GetRequestorProfileByName (User: 0#.w|domain\username, Form Name: xxxx, IP: , Connection Target: https://intranet2/UDCLibrary/GetRequestorProfileByName.udcx, Request: https://intranet2/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XsnLocation=https://intranet2/FormServerTemplates/xxxx.xsn&SaveLocation=https://intranet2/ict/rfc/Change Requests&Source=https://intranet2/ict/rfc/Change%2520Requests/Forms/AllItems.aspx&DefaultItemOpen=1, Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:ClaimsBased:-myXSD-2011-07-29T08-54-52 Type: DataAdapterException, Exception Message: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized. The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.)
