How to use NdisRetreatNetBufferDataStart() if DataOffset of Netbuffer is less than DataOffsetDelta? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am appending a custom header of 20 Bytes to the actual data in MDL. Here DataOffset of NetBuffer is than my required Header value i.e 20 bytes. According to Wdk Documentation, If there isn't enough unused data space, NdisRetreatNetBufferDataStart()  allocates a new buffer and an MDL to describe the new buffer and chains the new MDL to the beginning of the MDL chain. My question is here what  should I keep at NET_BUFFER_ALLOCATE_MDL_HANDLER (4th argument) ? If handler is required , How can I do this? It would be helpful if you give some code .
