Lumia 1020 - 8.1 preview update started, OK, but then WP 8.0 again RRS feed

  • Question

  • Everything started well.

    1. Preview for Developers App installed, started, confirmed, good
    2. Settings, check for updates, 8.1 update appeared, good
    3. Installing 8.1, migrating data..., good
    4. Phone restarted -> WP 8.0 again

    OK, then settings, done new check for update: nothing, phone is up to date (WP 8.0)

    How can I restart/initialize  the 8.1 update again? Anyone got the same with Nokia Lumia 1020?

    Thank you,

  • This appears to be a very minor update to WP 8.0, although I have no idea what changed. My phones OS was updated from 8.0.10517.150 to 8.0.10521.155. The 8.1 update should start with 8.10, as seen in some of the early 8.1 build numbers.

  • I have a Lumia 925. I am receiving the same issue, It stated this was the Windows Phone 8.1 update.  I rebooted, still Windows Phone 8 as if nothing was ever updated.  Now when I go to Phone Update, it says unable to check for updates (80072ee7).  Any help would be great!

  • Hello Folks,

    The update to Windows Phone 8.1 is actually 2 separate steps.  So you will need to update your phone twice to receive the full Windows Phone 8.1 update.  If you have only installed one update so far, please try to check for updates again and install the second.

    If you are on an earlier build then Update 3, more updates may be required to get you to the final Windows Phone 8.1 build.

    Thank you,

  • I had to run the update three times.  I think there are some other minor updates it needs to do first before it can do 8.1.
