Two Kinect V2 in one PC by enable/disable USB RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

As more than one Kinect V2 is not supported in single PC, is it possible to connect two Kinect V2 and use one at a time?

    Something like this :

    Step 1 : Open Kinect-1

    Step 2 : Process data from Kinect-1

    Step 3-  Close Kinect-1

    Step 4 - Open Kinect-2

Step 5- Process data from Kinect-2

    Step 6 - Close Kinect-2

Basically, I need two Kinect V2 but do not want to use two PC.

Anybody get it done through some workaround, please let me know

  • There is no support to do that and no guarantee that would work. Keep in mind, you would have to physically disconnect the sensor to ensure the runtime is choosing the correct one, but how that would affect your application is unknown.

  • Amazingly, but two Kinects V2 (each on a separate PC) do not interfere when looking at the same scene. It tells me, that it is reasonable to try to connect two Kinects V2 to the same PC. In that way we can solve the problem with areas of missing depth in Kinect's depth map, located in IR shadows.

Is any progress expected to allow for multiple Kinects connected to the same PC?

    Best regards,
