ISO software installation software RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a database project that is ready for deployment / sale. I would like to have some kind of software installation program that would start, much like a setup.exe file that asks the user the location where they want the files to be installed.

In addition, it would be cool if I could have an option that asks the customer if they have a full version copy of Access already installed and if not, it can install AccessRuntime2010.exe on their computer so they can run the database.

    Any ideas ?

    thanks,

  • I have used Inno Setup with some success. It's in PASCAL language and there is a learning curve, but you might look at it. It's also free and has a pretty good help file and user forum. There are also several fee-based products out there that have been used for years. Just search for application setup programs or such.

  • Sagekey. I don't use it but many others do.
