Create assembly manifest RRS feed

  • Question

  • My assembly manifest (*.dll.manifest) is outdated, and I want to update it, but it does not seem to be changed at all in Visual Studio. I am trying to install a VSTO add-in and it tells me that the hash in the manifest does not match the assembly's hash. I can't figure out how I can generate a new manifest. Ideally this should happen whenever I build in Visual Studio.

I don't know of a better place for this question, but if you do, please let me know.

Also, excuse me if I get application manifests and assembly manifests confused. What I have gleaned from MS documentation leads me to think that they are the same thing, but are very different. I don't know who to believe.

  • FACEPALM!!!!!!!!! I was accidentally using an old debug version in my installer package. I switched to the release version, and it worked better.
