asdk-installer not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Greetings,
I am having trouble with the asdk-installer and I was wondering anyone has seen this issue.  I ran the precheck installer and everything passed but the installer script is kicking out errors.  The UI also does not display the Ethernet adapters in the step where you need to select one.  I can select a "line" in the window, but I cannot see what it is.  I can proceed to the next step but I have no idea what Ethernet adapter was selected.

asdk-installer.ps1 error, Occurs at start of script
    PS C:\AzureStack_Installer> .\asdk-installer.ps1

  • Hello,

Please try to manually disable all but 1 physical network adapter and double check the IP information you are passing is valid and try deploying again.

If the deployment still gets stuck:

Please run the following commands from an elevated PowerShell session and post the output back to the Forum as it may reveal what the issue is.

    ### Get all Network visable Adapters

    Get-NetAdapter -Name *

    ### Get all Network Adapters

    Get-NetAdapter -Name * -IncludeHidden

    ### Get all visable Physical Network Adapters

    Get-NetAdapter -Name * -Physical

    ### Get all Physical Network Adapters

    Get-NetAdapter -Name * -Physical -IncludeHidden

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your time and interest in Azure Stack.

If you continue experience any issues with ASDK release, feel free to contact us.

     Thanks,

    Gary Gallanes

  • Is this on a Server 2012 R2 base OS install?

  • They are all currently disabled.  Here is the output from the get commands.

    Thanks,

  • Yes this is 2012 R2.  I tried the installer on two separate hosts, both are 2012 R2, and the same issue occurs on both.  Is a another version recommended? TP1-3 never had any issues, this seems only related to the installer script?

    Thanks

  • Try installing PowerShell 5 - I had a similar issue and PowerShell 5 worked.

  • Thanks!  This resolved the issue.  Had to update to 5.1.

    Thanks again!
