MS Access - Data Base RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have an IPS with Windows embedded standard 7, I am planning to develop a small program in C# that needs to store/administrate some information similar to a database table, for example a name of a "tool", and associate to this "tool" a number ID, weight, dimension, manufacturer, etc ...

It is not intended to use MS Access in the IPC to visualize this information, it is intended for the C# application to deal internally with this small local database and to show the content, modify, delete, add data using C# forms.

1.-Is it possible to use the MS Access Runtime in Windows Embedded standard?

2.-Would we need a license to do this? (considering that we are not planning to use MS Access to visualize or modify the data in the database)

  • You can using Microsoft Access with WES7. You should contact your Microsoft distributor about the licensing. There might be a small fee.

FYI - Some folks using SQLLite as an alternative database.
