OAuth 2.0 in Azure Data Lake

    Question

  • Hi All,

    I am following below URL:

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/cansql/2017/03/06/creating-an-oauth-2-0-authentication-token-for-azure-data-lake-store/

    1. Sign      in to the Azure portal
    2. Choose your Azure AD tenant by      selecting your account in the top right corner of the page
    3. In the left-hand navigation pane, under MANAGE,      click App Registrations, and click Add

    ·        Name: Name of the application registration. (Exemple: ADL WebHDFS)

    ·        Application Type: Native

    ·        Redirect URL: urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob

What will be the value of Redirect URL?: in Website they are referring it’s value as “urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob”

Above is not a URL. Please help.

    My requirement is to have

“OAuth 2.0. Calls must contain a valid JWT (JSON Web Token) issued by Azure Active Directory” in Azure Data Lake Gen1.(Referring https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/blobs/data-lake-storage-upgrade)

  • Hi Preyash,

Redirect URL is the URL of your native application. Have a look at this doc for details:

    https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/blob/master/articles/data-lake-store/data-lake-store-end-user-authenticate-using-active-directory.md#step-2-get-application-id-and-redirect-uri

This should solve your problem. Let us know if it helps. Else, we can continue to probe in further.
