Text fields for some users in sharepoint are disabled. . . ' RRS feed

  • Question

  • In sharepoint site, some of the users see the textfield as disabled while it works fine and is editable for others.
Problem remains same even when tried in Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox & Google Chrome.

Also, all of them have the same version of browser installed on their systems.

    Thanks in advance,

  • Hello,

    Which version of sharepoint 2007/2010/2013?

Is there any customization or validation or code on site? Are you using infopath form?

Please provide more detail about your text field and page.

  • Hello,

I am assuming that you are using infopath form so could you also check if there is any formatting rule on the control? Refer this to check rule on control: http://www.inclusivedesignsolutions.com/infopath/infopath-conditional-formatting-showhide-optional-section-via-checkbox-or-radio-buttons/

As you said, it is visible for other so could you tell us office version where this form is creating is issue.

  • If infopath could be the problem, then each user would have faced it...'
On every machine, office 2010 32-bit is installed...'

Along with the text box, also, some buttons are disabled....'

  • Hello,

I never face this issue but if you are using browser based form then did you try to run your form in compatible mode? If not then please do so. Just press F12 and run it in compatible view and see the result.
