How to select a value from dropdown list in SharePoint Designer 2007? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    first, i hope i have asked this question in the right place. If I have not than please accept my apology.

    I have customised SharePoint 2007 list using SharePoint Designer 2007. The columns I am using are Due Date and Status (dropdown selection). I would like programmatically change the value of Status dropdown column if today's date is greater than Due Date.

    Any assistance is highly appreciated.

  • Hi Naeem,

    We can use XSLT Transformations to change the value for the Choice field. However, please note it only change the display value in the page, but not change the value in the data.
    In order to change the value in the data, we can use Workflow.

    If we are using XSLT to display the value, we can use xsl:choose in this case.
    <xsl:when test="@your_field = ''">
    There is no data for this field
    <xsl:value-of select="@your_field"/>

    For more information, please see:
