Reading full error message RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

On some of the SSIS packages, there is a red x indicating an error, and when I hover over the task the message is truncated.
Is there a way to read the entire message as I'm not able to know why it's giving me an error.

    Thank you

  • You need to open the Errors window.  Go to the View menu, and select Error List.

  • Yep. Open the Error List pane (CTRL+\, CTRL+E)

  • Todd and Jamie, thank you.
I'm aware of that, but I wanted to see if there is a way to see the error message prior to execution since the red box shows up if there is an error even if you don't execute it.

Is there a way to do that?

  • Exactly like we both told you - in the Error List window.  It's there even before you execute your package.
