  • Question

  • Following are the details of the on-premis server that requires Azure back up service:

    1. Single ERP Server with 2TB storage.

Also kindly clarify the following points:

    1. The requirements for the deployment.
    2. Does Azure back service comes as a standalone service or requires other dependent services to work?
    3. Is there limitations in terms of back up servers and does a VM server counts as one server for pricing purposes?
    4. Can azure back up individual services like Domain controller,  Exchange server, Fileserver or Active directory?

  • 1. All the requirements for Azure Backup Server is listed on the download link - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49170

    2. MABS can be deployed as a physical standalone server, as a Hyper-V virtual machine, or as a Windows virtual machine in VMWare.

    3. Refer to this link for limitations and installation guidance. VM server counts as one instance for pricing purpose.

    4. With Azure Backup Server, you can protect application workloads such as Hyper-V VMs, Microsoft SQL Server, SharePoint Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Windows clients from a single console. Refer to the section "Protect workload

    Hope this clarifies!
