.Net Core 3.1 Windows Form Application Designer Not shown

Question

Hi All ,

I have already updated my Visual Studio Community 2019 to version 16.5.1 .

When i create Windows Desktop Appliction (.Net Core) designer never shows up even if i double click on Form1 or right click view designer.

How can i solve this ?

Hi EvginI,
To use the designer, you must be using Visual Studio 16.5 Preview 1 or a later version.
You need to enable the designer in Visual Studio. Please follow the steps: Go to Tools > Options > Environment > Preview Features and select the Use the preview Windows Forms designer for .NET Core apps option.

Hi Daniel ,

Correct me if i am wrong. to clearify my case 

- I installed Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2019 . with latest update

my current ide envoirement is  Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2019 Version 16.5.1   .

Below i added system info 

from Help -> About Microsoft Visual Studio window using Copy Info button . 

As i understand windows form designer for .Net Core 3.1 is not released version.It is in preview version , right?  

If i want use designer should i install latest preview version ?

Also as a warkaround that case i opened .net framework windows project and coping

designer generated code from that project into  .net core 3.1 windows desktop project.And is working fine ..

As official document said, the new preview version of the .NET Core Windows Forms designer is available with the Visual Studio 16.5 Preview 1.
So you must be using Visual Studio 16.5 Preview 1 or a later preview version.

I am running 16.5.4 and still have this problem too!
