Xamarin Android Player "Xamarin.Android subscription is required" - I have Indie subscription... RRS feed

This morning I installed the Xamarin Android Player preview (Mac version). I have an Indie Xamarin.Android subscription. I am logged-in to my account in Xamarin Studio (I even logged-out and then back in).

When I launch "Xamarin Android Player.app" I get "A Xamarin.Android subscription is required to use this beta". See attached screenshot. Also attaching screenshot of "About Xamarin Studio".

I also tried restarting my Mac.

edit: Whoops. Just saw there is a forum specifically for Xamarin Android Player. Moving.

Has the same problem. Only way I found - login as root and everything works.

    Is it just me?

Could anybody that's reading this and successfully using Xamarin Android Studio on a Mac please just reply with "it works for me."

Not everybody, just anybody. So, like, if you already see a reply, don't bother.

    Thanks. Super-frustrating.

In my previous post I meant to say:

If you're reading this and successfully using the Xamarin Android Player on a Mac, please reply to this post with "it works for me."

I really only need one reply.

At this point, with all the trouble-shooting I've been doing, I just want to know if Xamarin Android Player (for Mac OS) simply doesn't work (for anybody), or if there's something wrong with my setup.

    Thanks.

Wow, I guess it just doesn't work.

    Why does it exist?

Hey, thanks for answering. I guess it kinda works, then. I'm not gonna login as root, though. I've resigned myself to doing it the old way (with Google's emulator). Clearly, Xamarin isn't supporting the Mac version of their Android Player.

Hi @spotcatbug, very sorry for missing this issue, I have opened a bug to track it at https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=27367

Could you let me know what version of Android Player you're running? Also if you could post any logs from /Library/XAP/Log to the bugzilla issue it would really help us.

    Thanks!

    @Will_Schaller

    "Access denied" on the bug.

Nevermind. There aren't any logs in /Library/XAP/Log. Actually, there's nothing at all in /Library/XAP.

    Player version is 0.2.5.

Thanks @spotcatbug, the bugzilla bug should be accessible now, my mistake.

I think we have a reproduction of this issue and are investigating a fix now, I will keep you updated

@Will_Schaller @spotcatbug I'm having the same issue. I'm also on XAP 0.2.5, on MacOS X 10.10.2. /Library/XAP also doesn't exist on my machine. If there's any other information I can provide, please let me know.
