Globalization, add json resource file programmatically RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

I'm developing an app that needs to be globalized. Translated text is obtained through a webservice on app startup and I can easily convert it to <default version> : <localized version> format.

I would like to use the globalization engine that Windows 8 has using json resource files. Since I get the translated text dynamically, is there a way to create a json resource file programmatically and then pass it to the Win8 globalization engine?.

    Thanks.
    Diego.

  • Hi Diego,

Are you strings static in your app?  If so you should translate them ahead of time so that your app performs well.  You cannot load pri files that are not part of the package.  You will have to come up with your own scheme if you wish to do this dynamically.

  • Hi Jeff,

Yes, strings to translate are static but the current app architecture requires getting data through a webservice because it's also used for other end point applications.
    Thanks!.
