    you can run a wpf application in browser, but then you have to ensure that client have installed .NET framework

    Its not possible to run a WPF application in Sillverlight 2, as these two are different things in themselves.

    WPF application is a desktop application while silverlight 2 is a web application.

    To run WPF you need to have WPF host, and for Silverlight 2 you need .Net 3.5 framework.
