Wrong Product Type RRS feed

  • Question

  • When testing our USB3 camera driver on Windows 7 it is being detected as a Webcam, but it is not.

On Windows 8 it seems to setup the test structure fine and everything passes.

I know I can add features to the device but I cant remove features.

  • That's correct, features that are automatically detected cannot be removed.

The product type depend on the feature to requirement to OS mapping.  You can check the requirement to OS mapping by looking at a requirement XML on an HCK controller installation.  Feel free to let us know which specific requirement, feature, or product type that's in question.

    Thanks.

  • Where do I find this XML file on the controller machine?

Right now my device is being detected as a WEBCAM but I would like an unclassified imaging device or a USB3 Vision device.

Windows 8 seems to detect the right product type but Windows 7 does not and they use the same driver.
