Repetitive warning message when adding the VM images to the marketplace RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ive been deploying Azure Stack POC (TP3) but faced the below issue while following the step Add the Windows Server 2016 VM image to the Azure Stack marketplace”.

    New-Server2016VMImage-ISOPath $ISOPath -TenantId $AadTenantID -EnvironmentName
    "AzureStackAdmin" -Net35 $True -AzureStackCredentials $Credential

    VERBOSE:Checking ISO path for a valid ISO.

    VERBOSE:Checking authorization against your Azure Stack environment

    WARNING:Unable to acquire token for tenant 'Common'

    VERBOSE:Authorization verified

    WARNING:Unable to acquire token for tenant 'Common'

    WARNING:Unable to acquire token for tenant 'Common'

    WARNING:Unable to acquire token for tenant 'Common'

    MD5hash is being calculated for the file
    C:\AzureStack-Tools-master\ComputeAdmin\Server2016

    DatacenterFullEval.vhd.

    MD5hash calculation is completed.

    Elapsedtime for the operation: 00:02:33

    Creatingnew page blob of size 42949673472...

    After these lines, the PowerShell shows WARNING: Unable to acquire token for tenant 'Common' and then downloading…” for 30 times and shows WARNING: Unable to acquire token for tenant 'Common' again like a loop for over two hours.

    Any ideas why these lines come up repeatedly? :(

  • The downloading message is a way to probe the system for progress.  This is expected behavior.  Did your blob creation and upload complete, fail, or did you kill the process?

    Thanks,

  • Hello,

    This issue could happen due to HTTP proxy with authentication between workstation and the Internet. Is Azure Stack running behind a Proxy?

    Please run the following script will validate you can get a token from your Azure AD

    ***NOTE: Make sure to update the "CHANGE-ME" text to your TenantID, AAD Admin & Password

    ### Set your Tenant ID, AAD-ServiceAdmin and Password #######

    $AadTenantId = "CHANGE-ME"

    $Credential = New-Object System.Management.Automation.PSCredential("CHANGEME@CHANGEME.onmicrosoft.com", `

    (ConvertTo-SecureString -String "CHANGE-ME" -AsPlainText -Force))

    ### Autheticate to login.windows.net and get an Azure Stack

    $AuthorityEndpoint = "https://login.windows.net"

    $armEndpoint = "https://api.azurestack.local

    $response = Invoke-RestMethod "${armEndpoint}/metadata/endpoints?api-version=1.0"

    $armResourceId = $response.authentication.audiences[0]

    $token = Get-AzureStackToken -Authority $AuthorityEndpoint -AadTenantId $AadTenantId -Resource $armResourceId -Credential $Credential -Verbose

    $token

    ALSO - Make sure you are running AzureRM module 1.2.9

    ### Downloads and Imports the AzureRM module 1.2.9 installed #######

    Set-PSRepository -Name "PSGallery" -InstallationPolicy Trusted

    $AzureModule = "c:\Program Files\WindowsPowerShell\Modules\AzureRM\1.2.9\AzureRM.psd1"

    if (Test-Path $AzureModule){

         Import-Module $AzureModule -Global

           } else {

                 Install-Module -Name AzureRM -RequiredVersion 1.2.9

                 }

    Import-Module $AzureModule -Global -Erroraction SilentlyContinue

    To expedite your investigation, please provide the following information:
