Smart Device Application Development in C Sharp RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    I am new to developing the SmartDevice Application for Windows Mobile.

    I am using windows xp3 and installed VS 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2008 r2, SQL Server Compact 3.5 sp2 and off the Windows fierwall in the execption tab added sql server and sqlbrowser.exe in my machine.

    Another machine we connected in our network and installed VS 2008 SP1, SQL Client, SQL Server Compact 3.5 sp2.

    I have create the Smartdevice application in the appliation drag & drop the datagrid-->Right Click-->Properties window-->Selected Datasource-->Add Datasource-->Select Server windows display--> Selected the server-->given the username and password in the enter the Database name dropdown box is empty or in another machine showing the database-->When Selected->0k

    We got the error: The data provider is not supported

    Pls help me out this issues.

  • Did you install SQL server on the Windows Mobile device?

  • Hi Gajii,

     

    Maybe there is some error in the data source control in Visual Studio. You can try to use connect string directly without the data source control.

     

    Please follow this document directly connect with SQL Server. And this Accessing SQL Server Express from the emulator (or PDA)

     

    I hope my suggestions can help you to solve this problem.
