Multitenancy using extended pattern and O/RM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it a good approach to use O/RM with a multitenant application in which multitenancy is implemented using the extended table pattern ?

Say for example, we have a User table & a UserCustomTable which basically holds custom data specific to each tenant.  And in the application we would have a base "User" class & say a BankUser class for one tenant , HospitalUser for another tenant.

Since in such a approach, one has to anyways resolve the imepedence of converting the custom data from the database to a specific entity type in code , I believe a multitenant application implemented using extended data pattern isn't a right candidate for O/RM.

Would like to have thoughts/feedbacks from others ?

    Thanks Girija
