How to give permissions to Active directory users in sharepoint 2010? RRS feed

  • Hi all,

    I'm using sharepoint 2010.I have active directory user.I need to give access permission to sharepoint site for AD user.Is there any way to give permission to  that user without import them into sharepoint group.

  • Hi,

    Yes, this is provided by the out of the box functionality.

    Within Site Settings > People and Group, click "New", then simply say Add Users enter the AD user name.

    This is of course assuming that the directory is within the same domain as your SharePoint server - let us know if you run into any issues.

    You can try this with User policy in central administrator.

    1. Create new user policy as per your requirement.

    2. Add AD user with this newly created policy.

    Please update the result with us.
