Installing .net Framework 3.5 on windows8 dev preview

Question
-
I have the stand alone installer for .net framework 3.5 and I'm trying to run it in Windows 8, but it displays the "Turn Windows features on or off" dialog when I run the installer, and when I accept the change, it tries to download the framework from windows update. This doesn't work as I have windows running in a virtual machine with limited internet access.
Is there a way to work around this?

It looks like it has sorted itself out. I didn't do anything, but it worked when I ran it again just now
