  • Question

  • How do I publish from mac?

Azure's guide: " Publish a Web app to Azure App Service using Visual Studio for Mac "  is really misleading.

This guide doesn't work. There's no "publish" in the right-click menu.

    :]. Pretty confusing.

  • Hi there,

When publishing a Web app to Azure App Service using Visual Studio for MAC, you need to notice the following prerequisites.

#1. Visual Studio for MAC installed with ASP.NET Core enabled

You could install the .NET Core SDK and have the ASP.NET Core enabled.

    #2. An ASP.NET Core project

It seems that the Publish menu is only available for ASP.NET Core projects in Visual Studio for MAC.

By the way, this forum is related to Visual Studio IDE, which is different from Visual Studio for MAC. For more questions, please start a new thread in the Visual Studio for MAC of Developer Community where you will get a better support. Thanks for your understanding.

    Hope it helps.

    Sincerely,

    Anna
