How to control how the reportviewer control parameters that are displayed RRS feed

  • Question

  • In SSRS 2008 and VS 2010, we are trying to use the paramaters that are displayed automatically by the reportViewer control on an aspx page.  Does anybody know if we have control over how those parameters are rendered?  For example, the parameters render horizontally from left to right in 2 columns.  Can you make them render vertically in one column?

If you are stuck with the 2 column display, can you force it to go to the next line after it displays one of the parms?  ie, if you had 3 parms of Acct #, Transaction Start Date, and Transaction End Date, it would be nice to display acct # on row 1 and then have Start Date and End Date end up visually together on line 2.

Hope that makes sense and any insight is appreciated.

  • Unfortunately, the layout of the built-in prompt area is not customizable.  It's a commonly requested feature, but we haven't been able to fit it into a release yet.  The metadata used to generate the prompt area is exposed via ReportViewer.ServerReport.GetParameters(), so you can hide the built-in prompts and implement a custom area if you wish.
