3D Scan App not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • ...just shows large blue Kinect icon nothing clickable, where can I find Logs? No LED on Kinect runs.

I installed my kinect 2. The verifyer says the usb controller may or not work. Running Kinect Studio I can watch Point Clouds correctly.

Pushing connect button in  activates 3 Infrared Lights and a white led on the Kinect directly. One white LED runs on the power supply. Win 10.

I saw a video where you can push a 3D Scan button from the App 3D Builder but this button is missing. Please Help

  • 3D Builder in Windows 10 doesn't support scanning from the Kinect sensor (yet) simply because up until recently Kinect 2 was not supported in the UWP applications. Scanning you saw was possible only in Windows 8 version.

Currently UWP applications can access the Kinect 2 sensor's depth stream (using WinRT classes from Windows.Devices.Perception namespace) if you have a beta driver installed therefore support in 3D Builder "might" come - sometimes later.

  • ok no scanning from 3D Builder but why does the 3D Scan App not work nor throws an error nor reports a log? The App seems to be made for Win 10, neither App nor the Kinect does anything, real weird.

  • I just tried it and it sometimes can't find a K2 sensor at the first try (notification in the upper left corner) but all controls are visible in it. What you see is a "splash screen" that should fade away but for some reason the application gets stuck while loading. You should report application (mis)behaviour to the Microsoft (e.g. using "report this app" on Store page)
