zero margin RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, Is it possible to override Word 2010 or 2013 minimal margins?   I have an old app that creates raw PCL that puts  DataMatrix barcode 50 600DPI pixels  1/12" from the left edge, my new OpenXML app working with 1" margin Word .docx documents needs to duplicate this position.   The minimal left margin I have been able to get Word 2010 to accept is 0.28", I need 0.083" or smaller.   My doc size is 8.5" x 11" portrait , my target printer has a 17" wide print head, it uses roll paper and can print any length page.

    Thanks,Mark

  • Word uses the margins of the default printer driver and most drivers can’t specify zero margins (that is, there is a nonprinting area). One possibility is to specify a larger paper format than the one you are actually using, and then cut the superfluous edges.
