Setup a VPN Site to Site connection - no DHCP lease RRS feed

  • Question

  • We trying to setup a VPN connection on-premise to Azure. We installed RRAS windows 2012 R2 server with 2 NICs. One with a public IP address  and one with a private address. The RRAS server connected directly to internet, no firewall. We configurered the Virtual Network, Local Network, Affinity groups, VMs descriped on differend websites (straight forward tutorials) and downloaded the RRAS VPN script. Everything seems to be working fine. VPN tunnel is connected with Azure. But we don't receive an IP address from Azure. We have a APIPA IP address on demand-dail interface. We cannot ping, trace, RDP a VM in Azure from on premise. Need support. Thank you.

  • Hi,

This looks like a Routing issue from the Gateway to the RAS server.
Would you be able to try deleting the VPN Gateway and recreate it?

  • We created several times from scratch the Azure network infrastructure and deleted / created the azure gateway many times. No positive result.

  • Hi,

I'm afraid in that case you would have to raise a Technical Support Case.
You could refer the following link:
