JIT Debugging Error RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am Attempting to Set Up a Program by the Name of VOICE ATTACK. it enables you to control various functions within game via Voice vs Keyboard, mouse, or gamepad.   Unfortunately, I've been unable to use the software due to a JIT Debugging error. I've attempted to track down and fix this error, but other than Moderators asking WHY, no one has any real Answers on a Solution.

    I'm not a Computer Tech, Never been that great at programming, i fear without someone to either walk me through it, or by laying out a step by step on a Solution, the outcome is gonna be a dead computer.

    ANY help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Below is the Error i have received.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    See the end of this message for details on invoking

    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging

    enabled.

    For example:
    <configuration>
        <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

  • Hi Whisper227,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

    Refer to the error message in the JIT dialog box:

    >> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

       at System.Speech.Recognition.RecognizerBase.add_AudioSignalProblemOccurred(EventHandler`1 value)

       at System.Speech.Recognition.SpeechRecognitionEngine.add_AudioSignalProblemOccurred(EventHandler`1 value)

       at VoiceAttack.frmMain.‡()

    The NullReferenceException always means the same thing: you are trying to use a reference. The reference is not initialized (or it was initialized, but is no longer initialized).

    Did you meet this error when you install the VoiceAttack? If so, I recommend you go to the VoiceAttack support forum: http://voiceattack.com/SMF/ and you will get a more professional support from there, since our forum is only to discuss the .NET Framework Setup and Servicing.

    If you try to develop the code with the VoiceAttack, you can have a look at this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4660142/what-is-a-nullreferenceexception-and-how-do-i-fix-it and it providers some methods to debug and solve this exception.

    In case, this issue is caused by the installed .NET Framework versions are corrupted, please use the .NET Framework setup verification tool: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/astebner/2013/11/06/net-framework-setup-verification-tool-and-cleanup-tool-now-support-net-framework-4-5-1/ to verify the existing of .NET Framework versions and once it found any corrupted, you can use the .NET Framework Repair Tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 to repair.

    Best regards,

    Sara
