Touchpad support and mouse control panel RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • 1.  By now, laptops with touchpads are ubiquitous yet Windows offers built-in way to control the tapping functionality or adjust tapping sensitivity, turn tapping off when typing, adjust the scroll area and speed of touchpads etc. You have to install the drivers from the touchpad manufacturer before you can control/change these settings. It's high time Windows supports a built-in way to disable tapping functionality, control tapping sensitivity and adjust scroll area. Touchpad scrolling also doesn't work with the Windows 7 built-in drivers.

    2.  The "Hide pointer while typing" was introduced to Windows in Windows Me. Unfortunately, it's the only version of Windows where it works. Since then, it's broken on Windows XP, Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and now Windows 8. In any app like WordPad or Windows Run dialog, the pointer still disappears when we start typing. Please fix this for Windows 8.
