Is there a way to display EWS Managed API's EmailMessage with Outlook inspector RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to find a way to display a message retrieved through EWS Managed API into an object of type Exchange.WebServices.Data.EmailMessage in an Outlook Inspector for mail mesages.

I'm using exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010 and Visual Basic 2010

  • No you cant but have a read http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-AU/exchangesvrdevelopment/thread/c3c8582f-60ea-4b43-bfb5-9d60c4d0e6e1 you need to use the Hex EntryId of Item you can get from EWS to open the object in Outlook.

  • Thanks Glen. I checked the link but it doesn't really apply to me because I already have the EntryID. I 'm retrieving it from a database where it was saved along with the account name of the user that created it. I'm trying to use EWS impersonation (using admin account) to retrieve it and show it in Outlook inspector. I guess I can retrieve no problem, but then I'd have to create a new CDO MailItem, transfer all corresponding properties over and then call mailItem.display().

If you know of an easier way, let me know. Thanks.
