Preventing dodgy adverts RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I don't seem to be able to find a way to change the types of adverts that are displayed in our app.

I don't think that the attached ad is appropriate in any mobile phone app, let alone those of a respectable company.

Could anyone advise on how to change the ads to restrict this sort of advert, please?

    Thanks,

    Carl

  • Hi Carl,

These types of ads are not expected and we are happy to track this down. For this action please submit a ticket through the support portal (http://getsupport.microsoft.com) and supply the following information:

    1. PubCenter application name
    2. Screenshot of the offending ad (same as in this post)
    3. Date and time (and time zone) when the ad was seen
    4. Location (country/language) where the ad was seen

If possible, please also include the following:

    1. Ad unit ID
    2. Device make/model
    3. Whether the ad is seen on a specific device (or devices) or on all devices
    4. Click-through URL

This information is necessary for us to accurately locate and remove these types of ads. In some cases we may find the ads have already been removed or ended. In other cases we take the action and perform the removal.

  • Excellent. I guess we'll have to do without the annual return of about £5 that we've been getting.

  • Hello, thanks for the answer, but the time passed and today I cannot find a way to submit a ticket in support. ihave very interesting issue with in-app ad banner. With one exact ad shown inside it keeps automatically click itself and opens the link in the browser. It appears in several apps and the behavior is exactly the same - without any action the ad opens a browser. I believe it's unacceptable because it makes using the app impossible. Sorry, I can't provide any screenshots cause forum disallows me to do that.

The exact content has nothing to do with what is shown - after many redirects i end up on different sites every time - sometimes it's some kind of online casino, or it's an article about how to quit smoking easily. The first page that opens is

s.traleads.com with some utm parameters I have no time to see and there's like 5 or 6 redirects after that one.

Is it fine for the ad to open itself without any action from me?
