Cannot See Ajax Controls RRS feed

Windows Server 2008 R2.  IIS 7.x.  Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate.

I brought an "old" web site up in VS2013.  I added a tab to the toolbox and populated it with the Ajax Control Toolkit.  However, the tab then goes away.  If I "Show All" in the toolbox, the tab reappears.  But the items within the tab are grayed out.  What must I do to make this tab visible and active?  I have seen this reported before.  But no satisfactory solution.  Thanks for any help.

What type of file do you have open at the time you wish to see the toolbox item?

It should only be visible when you are viewing a .aspx, .ascx, .master. Not the codebehind, but only when you have one of those filetypes open and only when it's selected. Otherwise it will dissappear (or be grayed out) for items that aren't appropriate for the item being viewed. Also, make sure it is definitely a web project. I've seen people attempt to use these in class libraries or non-web specific projects and they won't display there.

    Hi Chaplain,

I suggest that you can reinstall the ajax control toolkit,

First please download the right version of ajax control toolkit for your application:

Second, please refer to the link about how to install the toolkit.

    Best Regards,
    Kevin Shen.

Might want to check out NuGet to install the toolkit.
Using NuGet should install the correct version for projects you are adding it to and will also handle updates for you as well.

Go to this link and download AJAX control toolkit.

You will get a zip file of 7.2 mb named AjaxControlToolkit.Binary.NET4  for .NET framework 4. Extract this zip in any folder (say AJAX) at some where . From the toolbox menu rigth-click and  choose items , from dialouge box click on browse then select AjaxControlToolkit.dll. It will add AJAX reference to your current project and copy tha .dll file to your current project to refrence directory.
