  • Question

  • when i opened .csproj ,which was checked out from SVN, with notepad, i found the detail of OWC(office web compenot)

        <COMReference Include="OWC11">
          <Guid>{0002E558-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}</Guid>
          <VersionMajor>1</VersionMajor>
          <VersionMinor>1</VersionMinor>
          <Lcid>0</Lcid>

    i don't have that kind of OWC.dll.

    after all, i found a OWC.dll in my COMReference,

    when it was added in project, .csproj file would be like this:

        <COMReference Include="OWC11">
          <Guid>{0002E558-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}</Guid>
          <VersionMajor>1</VersionMajor>
          <VersionMinor>0</VersionMinor>
          <Lcid>0</Lcid>

    then i search in all of the ms webside, i can't find any one like OWC.dll with version 1.1.

    i thouht maybe it caused by registry.

    could you pls help me for this issue..

  • Hello Ryan,

    Did you have a chance to check out the installation folder or GAC?

    The installer just copies PIA assemblies to your PC. See Office Primary Interop Assemblies for more information.

  • Which version of Office is installed on your development machine?

    Usually, the corresponding version of Office needs to be installed in order for PIAs to be installed...

    Since you want to work with OWC you seem to not be working with the VSTO technology? In that case, we should move your question to the more appropriate General Office Development forum.

  • I find 'Microsft office 2003 Primary Interop Assemblies' in my Add or Remove Programs, but it is still not found in my vs2005 Add Reference.

  • Hi Eugene,

    i checked GAC folder and i find 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Owc11' folder with 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Owc11.dll' inside.

    then i read your link, but i can't find any problem. it looks like the same steps,but i didn't see any assembly which should be in references ,neither .net tabpage nor com tabpage.

  • Hi ryan,

    Which version of PIAs are you installing? If you want to install the PIAs for Microsoft Office 2003, you can download it from link below:
    Office 2003 Update: Redistributable Primary Interop Assemblies

    Note, you need to install the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 or later befor you install using the redistributable package.

    Links below may be also useful:

    How to: Add and Remove References in Visual Studio (C#, J#)

    Hope it is helpful.

    Best regards

    Fei
