ADFV2 - Azure Search service and Event Trigger ARM export not giving option to configure url (search) and storage account connection string (event trigger)

  • In Azure Data Factory V2,

    when export ARM template with linked service for Azure Search, it's not giving option to configure search URL for different environments.

    When export ARM Template with Event Trigger, it's not giving options to configure environment specific blob storage account connection strings.

  • I can repro this same. We will look into it soon and will update you when we figure out the root cause.

    As a workaround, maybe you could edit the arm_template.json file yourself?

  • If you are using Git mode, you can control which properties should be parameter in ARM template. The document is:

  • Hey Fang,

    Yes These issues resolve but it seems another issue appear that which was working fine before.

    We stored are Azure Search Key in Key Vault and it was exported as option to change secret name for different environments. now it's not exporting Azure Search key vault secret name in ARM export.

  • Hey Fang,

    We are having a similar issue, but this time it is related to the integrated run-time which points to an on-premise gateway.   Can we have an option to configure on-premise integrated run-time for different environments?

  • Hi Luigi,

    Are you using Git or Data factory mode? What is your linked service type?

    From my testing, connectVia property has became configurable.

     "connectVia": {
                        "referenceName": "[parameters('parameter_name')]",
                        "type": "IntegrationRuntimeReference"

    Meanwhile, you could always edit the ARM template yourself following above pattern. If you are using Git mode, you could follow this doc.

  • Hi Sarju,

    Do you mean secret name exporting worked previously for Azure Search? I guess it only works when the property name is connection string, right?

    For now, could you add it manually? Or if you are using Git mode, you could follow Sidney's answer.
