  • Hello,

"Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (the release version and service packs) and earlier versions of SQL Server are not supported on Windows 10".

    Source: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2681562

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi RDL71,

Yes, as mentioned by Alberto, SQL Server 2005 is not supported on Windows 10, you can install SQL Server 2014 or 2016 and then migrate database to the new instance.

Could you please tell us in which scenario did you meet this error message? According to your description, my understanding is that the installation of SQL Server 2005 has blocked other updates, have you installed SQL Server 2005 on this machine? You can refer to this case.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

    Best Regards,
