  • Question

  • I’m aware you can pin websites to start screen from metro Internet Explorer

I want to know if this action creates some sort of shortcut somewhere so that we can create start screen website links without involving metro IE or User Intervention

Or If there be some other work around on this, you'll be doing me a very great favour

  • They're called secondary tiles, but they don't really lead to a website. They lead to IE displaying a specific website. A secondary tile is always going to launch the app that was used to pin it. It's just a more-specific version of the primary tile.

If you're working with XAML, you can find out about tiles and notifications in general, and secondary tiles in particularly, here.
