Set Permissions via FTP-Client possible? RRS feed

    Hello,

actually I am experiencing 2 problems using standard FTP clients.

1 . I can log in but not set permissions of Files I load up via FTP using TotalCommander.

I am using IIS on Windows Server 2008 R2

    2. With Filezilla I am not even able to get the directoryinfo or load up anything. If someone knows of these issues with Filezilla I'd also like to solve that, and I have tried Active Mode and Passive Mode - makes no difference at all.It just stops on

150 Opening BINARY mode data connection.

    Status:    Empfange Verzeichnisinhalt...
    Befehl:    PWD
Antwort:    257 "/" is current directory.
    Befehl:    TYPE I
Antwort:    200 Type set to I.
    Befehl:    PASV
Antwort:    227 Entering Passive Mode (87,106,213,151,192,90).
    Befehl:    LIST
Antwort:    150 Opening BINARY mode data connection.

With standard Windows FTP through command prompt I can do uploads. But have no idea how to test changing the permissions because this won't work with the classic chmod. So I know copying is basically working.

I suppose this won't work, because Windows uses a different security-model. But I don't know that. If anyone could tell me if I am right would be great.

I have given the specific FTP-User all available permissions including to set permissions on the specific folder.

I tried logfiles but given the sc-win32 code of 87 (wrong Parameter) my theory is, that chmod is an unknown command.

So I found it out myself,

    I) setting rights via FTP-Client is not possible

II) Filezilla is still not working but I have no clue. Maybe its using a port that won't work but I just don't know wich one it uses.

    Don't know where to look
