How to create a project in visual studio for push files to remote servers only RRS feed

  • Question

  • We need to have a place to push some files to remote servers only. We hope it has source control on those files, but not part of our c# project. I noticed if I created a wcf project, it has the function to publish certain folders and/or files with reading the publish profile.

I am wondering what is the best practice in visual studio to have this project to push file only to remote servers without any source code?

  • Hi maggiecandyland,

    Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I have a question to confirm with you.

What do you mean by 'push' and ‘has source control on those files’ ?

You can use git to commit, share, and sync your code, and if you want to upload files on the remote server, you can use File.Copy method.

See: How to upload a file on the remote server through C# code

If I have any misunderstanding, please provide more details.

    Best Regards,
