HTML inside C++ XAML / DirectX Universal App?

    Question

  • Is it possible to have a portion of a C++/XAML/DirectX app run HTML  (contained to a smallish rectangle sized area)   This is for a universal app.  HTML is not a website if that makes a difference.

  • You can host HTML in a Xaml WebView control.

  • It depends on what you are trying to do. I wouldn't use a WebView to create UI that I could create in Xaml, but it's irreplaceable if you need to display HTML. The WebView is a legitimate control to use in Universal apps.

  • Thanks Rob,

Would it be best to avoid the WebView control and use XAML instead?  Is it a best practice for Universal apps to not use a WebView control?
