how to run metro app by cmd?

Answers

  • Hi wxk,

There is no in-box way provided for Metro style apps to run from the command line. Why are you trying to do so? What is the scenario you are trying to achieve?

  • They can be run from the commandline. We do it in our Behaviour testing suite "metro driver". It's true though, that there are no tools offered by MSFT to do that. Of course there are also no tools offered by MSFT to develop metro apps (in javascript) in a truly TDD cycle. "Metro driver" will change that :) Stay tuned

Basically what you need to do is create a command line project and use IApplicationActivationManager to launch your app (with its App ID). Then wait for the process to terminate.
